Director of Office of Health Equity, Boston Public Health Commission

Margaret Reid is a registered nurse with a master’s in public administration. Ms. Reid has been with the Boston Public Health Commission for over 17 years and is currently Director of the Office of Health Equity, which leads efforts within the BPHC and with community and city partners to advance health and racial equity for city of Boston residents.
Prior to joining the Office of Health Equity, Ms. Reid was Director of the Division of Healthy Homes and Community Supports where she oversaw policy and program development regarding asthma, tobacco, oral health and injury prevention. Ms. Reid has led the development of tobacco regulations for the city and multiple innovative collaborations and programs.
Ms. Reid was a union organizer, for Service Employees International Union, working with low wage workers, prior to attending nursing school.
