Healthy Community Champions

Building relationships for collective impact.

The Healthy Community Champions (HCCs) are grassroots advocates and educators at the neighborhood level. As part of Boston Public Health Commission’s Let’s Get Healthy, Boston! (LGHB!) Program, HCCs are responsible for engaging and mobilizing residents around active transportation, healthy food and beverage promotion, and smoke free housing.

HCCs are recruited and supported by community-based organizations and coalitions that are familiar with the residents, resources and culture of the individual neighborhoods. This broadens their impact and increases community ownership of LGHB! HCCs are able to improve their daily lives and those of their families and neighbors.

Since beginning in the summer of 2015, HCCs have built a vital network for collective impact.
